This coffee comes from the first ever export from the Cooperativa Agraria Groupthink Yapaz (COOPAGRY) producer group in the San Luis de Shuaro region of Peru. Imported by our friends at San Cristobal, this is a new relationship for them, but one they have been working on for quite some time.

When we heard they were planning a trip to Peru, we told that that we would take whatever coffee comes out of their trip, because we have that much faith in San Cristobal's methods in building up coffee producing communities.

Started by three members of the Vivanco family - Alex, Flor, and Jean Pierre - COOPAGRY represents over 100 coffee producers, from 4 cooperatives (COOPAGRY Producers, APNA, ANTARI, & HUANTASHIRI). The three took a trip in early 2024 to intern with CAFESUMEX, a sister company of San Cristobal Coffee Importers where folks are taught coffee quality management, the evaluation of microlots, and economies of scale. This transformative experience, sponsored by San Cristobal Coffee Importers, equipped them with the skills and tools necessary to bring their vision for COOPAGRY to life.
